On The Water

Over the past few years, I have seen a large increase in the amount of time that I spent on the water, this has been in several forms from recreational sailing, photographic projects, and my work as a wildlife guide in the Hebrides.

Since 2015, I have traveled almost 15,000 nautical miles, and this section of my website is to give an insight in this with a more detailed account of a selection of these activities along with information and images of some of the great places, boats, and wildlife that were all part of this ongoing adventure.

Earlier in 2019, I was pleased to pass my Royal Yachting Association (RYA) "Coastal Skipper" qualification in a sailboat.  This was part of the training which I undertook before embarking on my 2500+ nautical mile circumnavigation of the British Isles.  It also sits nicely with my previous RYA training and qualifications.  I strongly believe in good training and am actively looking at some additional RYA training in the next 12 months.

The area where I have spent the majority of my time at sea is the West Coast of Scotland where I have worked as a wildlife guide for Hebrides Cruises for the past few years on the two boats below.
