Walking On Ice

There are large numbers of ducks that live in our inland waterways, rivers, and lakes.  Many of these water birds are are common species such as Mallards, Coots, Morehens, and other ducks.  All are welcome additions to the diversity we have.

Just because a species is common, it doesn't mean it doesn't have good colours, and often these make good photography subjects.  Photographers should not be shy of taking images of common birds and then displaying the images in their galleries.  Like all species and all photography, it's about composition, background, and light, just as much as the subject.
