Crested Tit

The Crested Tit is another species from the Northern forests, it's British range is limited to the Caledonian pine forests, but it can also be found in Scandinavia where it is a common widespread bird. There is also a Grey Crested Tit found across a wide range of Asia including China through to India which is very simular in appearance.

The Crested Tit is much easier to find in winter months when it is far less shy and can often be found hunting for food in the harsh environments it lives, indeed it often comes to nut and fat feeders.  I have seen and photographed Crested Tits many times in Norway, Sweden, and Speyside.
