Bee Orchids

There are around sixty different Orchid species in Britain and sadly most are in decline.  One species that is still relatively easy to see is the Bee Orchid.

Bee Orchid - Ophrys apifera is the main Bee Orchid species in Britain, but as with many other plant species, there are different variations and varieties each having their own structure, shape and individual differences.  I have photographed the Wasp Orchid - Var. trollii which is one of the Bee orchid variants to be found in Britain.
