These pictures were taken in
August 2008, on a grey windy day on an Oxfordshire
hillside after a few hours searching and the point
where I was about to give up looking.
I had seen a
few other species including:
Common Blue, Brown Argus, and various
whites
but I was disappointed that I had not seen any
Silver-spotted Skippers.
However it got a bit warmer and I
managed to see
a handful of these and also managed a handful of
photos.
The two
sites in Oxfordshire that I visited were
Aston Rowant and
Watlington Hill both easily accesable and very near to the M40 motorway
in Oxfordshire.
These pictures were all taken from Watlington Hill which is
National Trust open access land.
Watlington
Hill, is also o good area for Red Kites. |
