A few pictures taken of the 20+ Silver-washed
Fritillaries I saw in the Wyre Forrest in Worcestershire
during a day out in July 2008.
We saw at
least 10 different species during a walk in mixed weather.
These are
the largest "British Frit" with a wingspan over 75mm and as such
they are very spectacular as they fly past looking for plants to
nectar on.
The Wyre
Forrest is a well known place to see these butterflies and I was
very pleased with these. As always in 2008 it was a very
windy day and photography was hard, but as I had not seen this
species before I was pleased with these results. |
