Orange-tip

These pictures were taken in May 2008, when I spent a day with my friend Roger Wasley targeting some of Gloucestershire's spring butterflies.

The Orange-Tip is fairly common butterfly but it is hard to see an Orange-tip settled as 99% of sighting are of the butterfly in flight.  Indeed on the previous times that I had seen an Orange-Tip, it was always flying.

When these pictures were taken, it was too windy for great pictures, but I was pleased with the results all these Orange-tip were seen and photographed with varying success at several sites in the Forest of dean including Brierley and Cinderford Linear Park.
