Orange-tip
 
These pictures were taken in May 2008, when I spent a day with my friend Roger Wasley targeting some of Gloucestershire's spring butterflies.

The Orange-Tip is fairly common butterfly that is easy to see in flight but much harder to see settled for long enough to get some photos.  Indeed when I took these pictures it was the first time I had seen then settled for more than a few seconds.

 

 
When these pictures were taken, it was too windy for great pictures, but I was reasonably pleased with the results as a starter that can be improved on when time allows.  I took several Orange tip pictures with varying success due to wind at several sites in the Forest of Dean including Brierley and Cinderford Linear Park.
