Lulworth Skipper

The Lulworth Skipper is only found along the Dorset coast and therefore requires an amount of travel to see and photograph this species (assuming you don't already live in Dorset....).

It is very small and quite drab.  However like all butterflies it can look very good when you manage to get a good photo that is in focus and can look at the fine detail that all butterflies posses.

The Lulworth Skipper is often found by carefully looking in the long Tor-grass where the amount of wind and sun has a direct correlation on how easy it is to see.  As always the amount of wind and sun also has a direct effect on how easy it is to spot this small species which has a wingspan of just 26 mm.  Therefore the picture below is enlarged to approximately 5 times it's actual size.
