Sepilok Orang-Utan Centre

Whilst at Sandakan we visited the

world famous Sepilok Orang-Utan Rehabilitation Centre.

These lovely mammals are seriously endangered and the centre attempts to retrain orphaned apes in survival skills so that they can be re-introduced back into the wild.

Monkeys

During out visit to Borneo we saw three
species of Monkey

Proboscis Monkey

Maroon Lengur Monkey

Long Tailed Macaque Monkey

macaque monkey a relatively
common monkey in Borneo.

We saw them at three places:
the Sepilok centre,
the Kinabatangan River,
and the Gomantong caves areas.
