Reindeer

Reindeer used to be a British species until it was hunted out many years ago.
they have since been reintroduced into the Cairngorm National Park as a "semi wild species"

The Cairngorm herd lives in the valley in winter where they get fed supplementary food.  In the summer months they are free to roam the Cairngorm mountain area were we saw this family group of five deer close to a walkers path in August 2007.

The baby reindeer below was only a few months old and obviously fitted the standard image of a Reindeer
as it had a red shiny Nose
just like "Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer"
