I have seen otters a few times in the past in Western Scotland and on Skye, but only brief or distant views and usually both.

I certainly have not had any opportunity to photograph them

Shetland is one of the main strongholds for Otters and our visit in May 2008 gave us the opportunity to hopefully get better views and some pics.

We saw Otter on two occasions:

the first at Tofts Voe at the Yell ferry terminal where views were fairly distant.

The second time we were at Baltasound where we got good views and these pictures were taken
