Short-eared Owl Gallery

Shorties, are one of the hardest species to get good photographs of, so I was pleased with this pictures of three SEO's seen on the isle of Sheppey in Kent in December 2008.

These pictures some of the better early examples my pictures of Short-eared Owl's.  

The three pictures below were taken in Northamptonshire between the end of October 2008, my first SEO's of the 08-09 winter and mid November.  This site is about 15 miles from my home and is certainly a great place with photographic potential.

The two pictures below were taken at Stretton Pool, a very local site to me where they were present in Jan. & Feb. 2008
 

	Great Easton in Leicestershire produced up to three SEO's regularly during the winter 2006 / 07. Then 2007 / 08 was a complete blank this may be due to the lack of voles as a result of the floods during the summer of 2007.   During Jan. 2007, it was particularly productive  with Owls seen on many occasions including one day that produced 3 species in one evening. (SEO, Barn Ow, and Little Owl)
