Red-flanked Bluetail

A few pictures of another long staying bird, this Red-flanked Bluetail was hard to photograph as it was often only briefly showing in vegetation.  The photo was taken at Thorpeness, n Suffolk in October 2006.

I went to see it after a visit to a near by area and was surprised at the large number of people on site viewing it.  It certainly was very flighty and was not often in one place for more than a few seconds before flying to another area. But as it's classified as "Mega Rare" on Birdguides it was certainly pleasing to get these shots as it may be a very long time before I get the chance to improve on them.
