Hoopoe

A few pictures of the Hoopoe in Birmingham in October 2006, it was a hard bird to find, but once located it was reasonably easy to photograph. It would not let you get to near without flying away but would come back after a few minutes, resulting in these cropped pictures. But I was pleased to with them.

I had hoped to see a Hoopoe when I visited Africa in 1992 but had no luck but was pleased to see several in India in 2002,
but this was the first that I have seen in Britain, and well worth the visit.
