Various Flycatchers

Spotted Flycatcher

Spotted Flycatchers were reasonably common on Fair Isle during a stay in June 2008

They were generally fairly timid for the camera, but this individual showed very well and was photographed at a distance of just 15 feet.

The resulting picyure is therefore fairly much straight as it came from the camera.

Cropped for a little more detail below.

A cropped picture of a bird showing well but distant in Torridon, Northern Scotland

A small flock of young birds in Wistow, Leicestershire in 2006 quite distant but was well worth going to see as they were only about 15 minutes drive from home.
