Eider Duck

Eider is a common seabird that can reasonably easily be seen and photographed around the British coast.  A particularly good spot to get close is the harbour of Seahouses, Northumberland where these pictures were taken during visits in May and June of 2006 of some very approachable birds.

Whist at Girvan near Ayr in April 2008, we saw a lovely male King Eider with a group of 20+ “regular Eiders”.
