Capercaillie

Capercaillie is a bird that I have wanted to see for a very long while. The birds seen below are all hen birds that were seen in the Cairngorm National Park in June 2006 while I was on a weeks Holiday with "Heatherlea Tours".  We spent quite a bit of time searching for Cappers in various woodlands before these birds were spotted.  Unfortunately we saw no males but everyone was very pleased to see these hens even if they were not as close as we hoped.

Of all the birds that I have seen before, the two that I would like good photo's of are the White-tailed Sea Eagle
(hopefully this will be possible, the Eagles when I go walking in the far North West of Scotland and Capercaillie will need a targeted visit when I am in Speyside)
