Avocet

 

The return of the Avocet as a breeding bird is one of England's most long standing and well known conservation success stories after they returned to Sulfolk where they are now relatively common to view.
 

They are also now common at many locations in Norfolk

Including this bird (right) photographed in 2006 at Cley in Norfolk

Another good location in Norfolk is Titchwell where the three photos below were taken

 

 

 

 

 

This Avocet below was pictured at RSPB Marshside in April 2007, where they are also now a common summer sight

 

 

 

The Avocet is of course the emblem of:

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds
(RSPB)
