Kingfisher

Everyone likes to see Kingfishers and a visit to Brandon Marsh in Warwickshire in October 2008 proved worthwhile.
The Kingfisher made three visits, and on each of these visits the Kingfisher caught fish and took them back to a perch to eat.

The birds seen were all Males (as are the rest of the kingfisher pictures below taken from both Brandon Marsh in 2007 and in Durham in 2006)

Although this was relatively close, with the Kingfisher being such a small bird, the photos are often not as good as they could be, or if the birds were bigger.

A visit during September 2007 to Brandon Marsh near Coventry to view the Kingfisher was rewarded with some photos after a long wait.  We also saw Hobbies catching dragonflies, Sparrowhawk, and Jay

The Kingfisher is one of everyone's favourite birds,
Often all you see is the blue dart across in front of you
but best when seen perched or catching tiny fish

These pictures of Kingfisher are both the same bird, seen at Low Barnes in Durham
