the Monadhliath
& Drumochter mountains

fine easy walking
with good views of higher peaks around

There is plenty of walking
the number of Munro's and tops are both in double figures
these peaks are of a good height

there are 4 Munros in the Monadhliath range
West of Newtonmore & Kingussie
: Carn Sgulan, A'chailleach, Carn Dearg & Geal Charn

There are 3 munro's East of the Drumochter Pass
: Meall chuaich, Carn na Cairn, & A'Bhuidneanach Bheag
there are 4 Munros west of the Drumochter Pass
: geal Charn (same name different mountain to above) A'Mharconaich, Beinn Udlamain, & Sgalmeach
I have climbed 6 of the 11,
they all need climbing and eventually pictures will be online here of them all

Geal Carn
3038 feet - 926 meters

a typical rounded Monadhliath hill

Drumochter Pass

often thought of
as rounded and boring,
as such we decided to
"knock a  summit off"
one wet day

approaching the summit of
Meall Chuaich
another reason for this visit,
was the short day length,
just four hours round trip
the summit of
Meall Chuaich
although this picture does not show
its actually pouring with rain
