Ben More
the solitary Munro on Mull

rising from the sea on Mull's west coast Ben More rises to 966 meters

unfortunately our week on Mull did not coincide with good weather

we started at sea level at the
Gleann na Fada valley

storm clouds beginning to arrive

most people - follow the NW ridge up the long scree to Ben More and return by the same route.

the route we took was - Started at floor of the Abhannia h-Uamha and followed the south bank of the Gleann na Beinne stream up to the col between Beinn Fhada and A'Chioch.
we continued south up the ridge and over A'Chioch (800m).
Continuing along the the same direction down the ridge to another col and then turn south east onto Ben more following the ridge to the summit.
from the summit we descended the NW ridge.

map -  O/S sheet 48

distance - 13 KM

ascent - approximately 1200m

time - 7 hours
