The
Kinder Scout Plateau
in Winter

the first pictures are of
a day of lovely weather 29th February 2004
(I am sure the weather is as good as this more than once every four years)

Fairbrook Naze

the top of Fair Brook, where the stream leaves the plateau

crossing the famous peat hags was easier in snow than the usual bog

Kinder Downfall

the "trig point at 624 meters"
this is approximately 1km. North West of Kinder Downfall
the picture on the left shows what appears to be the remains of an old trig point.

the edge (un-named on the 1-25000 O/S map near to the edge above Black Ashop moor and Deep red Brook

beyond the grit stone looking down to the Snake path that we followed back to our car on the A57
