In the south
!!! |
As I said on
the Peak District page I also said on the Peak
District page Indeed its still true that I have climbed lots more in the Peaks than in Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, but these are something to do "now and then on a summers evening" Cordee even produce a guide for the area and logically enough call it "Leicestershire Climbs" A few Leicestershire
crags are featured below |
climbs In in
Northamptonshire, no one would recommend Finedon slabs but a few feet of old concrete
sidings is better than nothing !! Climbs In Well where do you actually go, if you want to climb here ? Amongst the
better climbing in Leicestershire : the other
railway bridge is Slawston bridge in Leicestershire, and is used much more Finedon. The crag with
the biggest amount of area and therefore climbing is Markfield Quarry (disused) |
Outwoods Crag out of all the
mentioned "sites", Outwoods crag
is at O/S ref. SK 514 167 certainly
enough for an evening |

beware they lock the gates on time and sometimes you need to "break out" to escape home ! |

The crag with the biggest amount of area and therefore
climbing is / was at O/S SK 486 104, also on map 129 |
However
times have changed in that there is a large face topped with barbed wire covering all the
climbs around the pool. The climbs on the two other buttresses (including the buttress below are unaffected) |
