East Midlands Regional Special Needs Expedition

Special Needs 2000 The East Midlands
Region of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme ran a regional expedition for Award
participants with special needs. The Expedition was based in
Cory House in Derbyshire for one week, The expedition was open to any
participants with special needs, The week was further opened up this week by giving gold participants an opportunity to help assist on a residential basis thus working towards the "residential project" section of their own award.
All Leaders attended a special needs forum shortly after Christmas 2000 which was be held at Grendon Hall in Northamptonshire. This was be followed by two complete planning days to which all participants must attend. All leaders were be registered with Northamptonshire County Council as DoE leaders, and received the receive the necessary vetting. Expedition leaders were qualified to a minimum of BELA and / or MLTB standard. |
